We Show Our Stuff at ArtWalk 2014

The weekend started off overcast and cool, but the weekend was pleasantly warm, drawing a good crowd of people to Thousand Oaks ArtWalk 2014. This is our home show, since we live very close by.

We are still experimenting with out booth layout, since we have a diverse collection of artwork available.  We now have sculptures of various sizes, photographs on large and small aluminum panels, photographs on segmented aluminum panels, keepsake boxes and now giclee prints.  Figuring out the best way to display everything in a tight space is a trick!

The crowds were drawn to my photo of Havasu Creek, the bright blue color looks so refreshing in the warm sun.  Many people are familiar with Havasupai people, an Indian tribe that lives in the Grand Canyon in an area where Havasu Creek runs through some beautiful waterfalls.  My photograph is at the end of the creek, however, just as it empties into the Colorado River.  To get to this point, we had rafted a few hundred miles down the Colorado River!  It was truly amazing to watch the light blue water empty into the dark green Colorado, slowing blending together.

The water of Havasu Creek is much warmer as well, and allowed us to wade in for some closeup photos in front of some small waterfalls.
